THWAITES hit the bull’s eye with a series of fun nights hosted by the legendary Lancashire comedian Jim Bowen.
Jim, who became famous for presenting the cult TV game show ‘Bullseye’, fronted three special darts quiz events at Thwaites venues across the North West.
Hundreds of people flocked to the nights, which were staged at the Stanley Arms in Blackpool, Mill Hill WMC in Blackburn, and Parkfield Labour Club in Preston.
As well as providing some great entertainment, the nights also helped to raise a considerable amount of money for a number of local charities.
Jim, who used to run a Thwaites pub himself in Hornby near Lancaster, said: “It was great to be back in the area and the events were a lot of fun. I really enjoyed mingling with the locals and the fact we managed to raise a few grand for local causes was an added bonus.”
Six couples competed against each other in the specially devised darts quiz, with the winners on each night receiving £200 worth of high street shopping vouchers and some Thwaites beer.
