The legendary German beer festival, ‘Oktoberfest’, is one of the most famous events in Germany. Dating back to 1810, the 16-day festival, held each year in Munich attracts in excess of six million people, who come together to celebrate great beer the Bavarian way accompanied by traditional music and food.
In celebration of the festivities, leading Lancashire brewer, Daniel Thwaites, has been inspired to blend Germany’s finest beer ingredients with over 200 years of Lancastrian brewing know-how for its latest Signature guest ale. The result is a seasonal delight known as ‘Golden Wunder’ - a 4.6% straw coloured ale with a distinctive continental hoppiness balanced with a smooth dry finish.
Lee Williams, Marketing Manager at Daniel Thwaites comments: “Golden Wunder has a natural place in our Signature Range of seasonal ales. We are committed to creating new and exciting ales that will challenge, delight and captivate newcomers to the world of cask ale, whilst continuing to tantalise our growing legions of passionate ale drinker’s with a unique assortment of quality, artisan beers. Oktoberfest will also be celebrated by our pubs and bars who will be organising their own festivities.”
John Wyke, Licensee at the Old Horns Inn in Bradfield, Sheffield comments: “I’ve only been stocking Golden Wunder for a week and I’d say it’s a clear contender for being the biggest seller on the bar. I started with five barrels last week and have already put in an order for another five. My customers have commented on its crisp, clean sharpness which is going down really well.”
Daniel Thwaites has been established as an independent family brewer since 1807 and as such has a rich heritage and tradition as an artisan brewer governed by family values.
