According to folklore, a good elf is an elf that can perform good deeds in secret and never be caught! The more good deeds they get away with, the higher the rank they will earn amongst other elves. A good elf can be any shape or size. Some are seasonal and work extra hard at Christmas, whilst others work all year round, dedicated to spreading the festive message of good cheer.
In honour of the good elf and especially the seasonal devotees amongst them, leading Lancashire brewer, Daniel Thwaites, has created ‘Good Elf’ to hail the unofficial start to the Christmas festivities. This mahogany coloured beer has big, rich overtones of nuttiness, balanced with a light fruit flavour and delicate hop aroma – a festive twist to the traditional toast between family and friends.

The best elf costumes always have a few small bells sewn into the design. Bells should always be small and only leave just a slight sound as you perform your secret good elf deeds. Bells placed in just the right spots will make a sound but make it hard for people to detect exactly where the sound is coming from!
