Leading Lancashire brewer Daniel Thwaites has achieved two new national listings for its beer Wainwright. Supermarket chains Sainsbury's and Tesco will stock the beer from the 1st of March 2010, with the new listings coinciding with the start of Wainwright’s three month Golden Bottle campaign which celebrates the great British outdoors.
The new high profile listing is further recognition of the success of Wainwright, which is now listed in over 1,000 supermarket stores across the UK. This popularity will further be reinforced with the beer’s partnership with National Outdoors Week in March, when Daniel Thwaites will be inviting walkers to take part in over 100 walks throughout England and Wales between Friday March 12 and Saturday June 13. Details can be found on the brand’s worthwalkingfor.co.uk web site and one lucky participant who can find the location of a golden Wainwright bottle will win £3,000.
Wainwright is fast becoming the flagship ale for Daniel Thwaites and is known for being light in colour and refreshing in taste due to its soft fruit flavours, making it ideal for spring and summer outdoor drinking.
Mark Boardman, National Trade Manager at Daniel Thwaites comments: “This is great news for Thwaites Wainwright as it firmly establishes the beer as our leading national brand. Obviously it’s one step at a time, but we’re hopefully on course to see Wainwright become a 'Top 20' bottled ale by the end of this year.”
