Leading Lancashire brewer Daniel Thwaites is sponsoring East Lancashire Hospice’s fund-raising Starlight Walk through its flagship Wainwright beer. The sponsorship will see Wainwright branding adorn the t-shirts of participants of the Starlight Walk which is a 10 mile, ladies only, fully marshalled walk starting and ending at Soccerdome, Haslingden Road, Guide, Blackburn on the 22 May 2010.
The aim of the walk is to raise money for East Lancashire Hospice, which provides care to the people of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley. The hospice needs to raise approximately £2.8 million each year to continue this care and relies heavily on donations and fundraising events such as the Starlight Walk. Up to 1,000 women are expected to take part in the 10-mile trek for the Park Lee Road facility on May 22 at 10pm. Last year, more than 800 walkers took part raising over £80,000 for the hospice.
