Leading Lancashire brewer Daniel Thwaites has launched the first of their ‘Beer Hero’ pub concepts at the Inn at the Station in Clitheroe on the 12th of March. The £250,000 joint investment with the brewery and experienced licensees Gary and Louise Clough will see the pub serve the greatest variety of draught beer in the local area.
Formerly ‘The Station Hotel’, the newly named ‘Inn at the Station’ has undergone a complete refurbishment by Daniel Thwaites and the Cloughs. The pub will serve eleven draught beers, five of which will be cask. There will also be a wide range of Belgian, German, Abbey and Trappist bottled beers as well as an extensive wine list.
The pub will have a food offering throughout the day, with traditional dishes such as Beer Battered Haddock, Steak and Kidney, Slow Braised Lamb Shoulder and Handmade Classic Cheeseburger, amongst other favourites on the menu.
The major refurbishment has transformed the Inn at the Station into a contemporary and comfortable open plan space whilst still retaining characteristic period features such as the open wood-burning stove and cornicing. To further enhance the offering, the pub will have also have nine spacious en-suite bedrooms and a meeting room, which will be available to hire.
Andrew Buchanan, Director of Pub Operations at Daniel Thwaites comments: “We are delighted to be launching the first of the Daniel Thwaites ‘Beer Hero’ concepts. The joint investment of the brewery and the experience that Gary and Louise have of the pub industry is sure to make the Inn at the Station a long-term success in Clitheroe. As the leading regional brewer for the north of England we are extremely committed to our estate of 368 pubs and the range of beers we offer.”
Louise Clough, licensee of Inn at the Station, comments: “We are both extremely excited about this new venture at the Inn at the Station with Daniel Thwaites, and it would not have been possible without the help and support of the brewery and our families. We hope to make the Inn at the Station a community hub for the locals of Clitheroe; a good quality British inn where customers can relax and be assured of consistent levels of service and products.”
