Leading Lancashire brewer, Daniel Thwaites, will be championing this month’s National Cask Ale Week, with a number of initiatives both at the brewery and across its estate. The week will be dedicated to cask beer and in celebration; the brewery has nominated eight of its licensees to become cask champions.
Daniel Thwaites will be supporting licensees with a range of marketing and promotional merchandise in an effort to showcase the full range of cask ales available to the widest possible audience. The champion of the Week will be the brewery’s flagship cask beer, Wainwright, which customers will be able to sample in special trial glasses.
One such cask champion who will be fully supporting the Week is licensees Clare and Stephen Costello of The Bonny Inn, in Salisbury. The pub, which recently became 100% committed to cask ales, have adapted their usual weekly events to include beer rounds in their quiz night and they will be guaranteeing a marriage at the Wednesday Singles Club when the Chef will be partnering Daniel Thwaites’ beers with a smorgasbord of savoury nibbles, pies and cheeses – an attractive proposition to capture anyone’s heart.
The Bonny Inn will also be hosting FemAle Day on the 1st April, with a ladies night, which has already received 30 bookings from local women keen to sample an array of cask beers on offer.
The pub will also have a world beer tasting evening, showcasing a dozen of the finest beers from around the world, supported by Wainwright as the English representative for a truly unique cask ale experience.
Lee Williams, Marketing Manager at Daniel Thwaites comments: "We are delighted to be associated with Cask Ale Week, which gives consumers who have never tried cask beer or who are looking for a new drinking experience, the perfect opportunity to give it a try. As a brewer, we are really passionate about cask ale and very much look forward to sharing our beers with both existing and new customers.”
