Following on from the town’s Premiership success, it was the turn of Burnley Cricket Club to catch all the sporting headlines when they triumphed in the Thwaites Original Twenty 20 final.
Pitched against local rivals Nelson, the final was a low scoring affair for a Twenty 20 but was a tense and very exciting game for all those involved.
Burnley CC managed to defend a low total with tight bowling and great fielding and eventually won the first final of the Thwaites Original league by 14 runs.
On hand to present the Trophy was Lee Williams, Marketing Manager for Daniel Thwaites to a delighted Steve Brunt, captain of Burnley CC and his ecstatic team mates.
