Lancashire Day Beer

When is Lancashire Day? Lancashire Day Rose

Lancashire Day is on November 27th.

This was the date back in 1295, when King Edward I called the first elected representatives from Lancashire to Westminster to attend Parliament. This was later to be known as the Model Parliament and was seen as the beginning of democracy in Britain.

What is Lancashire Day?

Lancashire Day is a time to celebrate all things Lancastrian. Today, the county can boast a rich heritage and a diverse and popular culture. This is particularly evident when looking at Lancashire’s Food and Drink.

Classically, Lancashire is widely-known for its eponymous Lancashire Hot Pot, a caserole dish traditionally made with lamb and for Lancashire cheese, reputed to be the best toasting cheese in the world. But it also has some great beers to chose from and Thwaites has brewed up a special beer for Lancashire Day called Thwaites Flying Shuttle.

The Flying Shuttle is synomous with Lancashire’s history and heritage and Thwaites has created a dashingly dark coloured beer that has a lightly hopped, fruit aroma with a rich, nutty flavour.
